General information

To travel to Libya a visa is usually required with a few exceptions.

Visa Travel International is an agency accredited by the Libyan Consulate to assist you in your steps, regardless of the type of visa you would need.

Do you need a Visa for Libya?

Obtaining a visa before departure is required to travel to Libya.

It should be noted that no visa is issued upon arrival in the country. Therefore, it is imperative that the traveller apply to the Libyan Embassy in Paris.

Conditions of entry in Libya

In order to enter Libyan territory, the traveller will need to carry his passport with a visa as well as a return air ticket.

It should be noted that, even if the traveller is in possession of all the documents requested to validate his entry into Libya, the Libyan authorities reserve the right to refuse access to their territory without having to justify it.

Understanding the Visa for Libya

As obtaining a visa is subject to approval by local authorities, the processing time varies greatly (from a few days to several weeks).

The visa is valid from the date of issuance for a period of 30 days per stay.

Documents to be provided : Visa Business

  • An original passport, signed and valid for at least 6 months (without an Israeli visa) + a photocopy of the passport data page
  • 2 forms duly completed and signed
  • 2 “identity”-sized photos from the front
  • A letter of invitation from your correspondents indicating the reason, duration of stay, contact information of the correspondent and the cost of stay and travel
  • A letter from your company (mission) stating the reason, duration of stay, contact information of the correspondent and the cost of stay and travel
  • A copy/scan of the return flight ticket
  • A copy/scan of the hotel reservation

  • A copy/scan of the residence card for non-european people as well as a proof of residence for non-french people

The Libyan consulate is only open two days a week, which impacts visa processing times.

Furthermore, since obtaining a visa is subject to approval by local authorities, processing times vary considerably (from a few days to several weeks). The same applies to tourist visa applications.

Therefore, given these additional delays, it is recommended to submit your visa application well in advance.
