Visas for Central African Republic

roObtaining a visa before departure is required to travel to the Central African Republic fro any trip reason (Business, Tourism, …).

Visa apporval in Paris are only possible if and when you get the approval from CAR authorities in Bangui which can explain longer leadtime than expected if there is no local support to get this approval swiftly granted.

It should be noted that no visa is issued upon arrival in the country. Therefore, it is imperative that the traveller apply to the Embassy of Central African Republic in Paris.

In order to enter the territory of the Central African Republic, the traveller will need to carry his passport with a visa as well as a return flight ticket.

It should be noted that, even if the traveller is in possession of all the documents requested to validate his entry into the Central African Republic, the Central African authorities reserve the right to refuse access to their territory without having to justify it.

The visa is valid for 1 to 3 months depending on the information on the documents offered at the time of the visa application.

• An original passport, signed and valid for at least 6 months + a photocopy of the passport data page

• Forms duly completed and signed:
  • Long stay : 2 forms to be filled and returned                or
  • Short stay (<30 days): 2 forms to be filled in and returned
• 2 “identity”-sized photos from the front

• A copy of the return flight ticket

• Copy of the hotel booking confirmation offered by the on-site hotel (a confirmation email is not enough) or a certificate of accommodation legalized by a local authority.

• A copy of the french residence card as well as a proof of residence for non-French people
