The increase in consular fees for ESTA (visa-exempt travelers to the US / Visa Waiver Program participants) will take effect on September 30th.
The ESTA (electronic travel authorization), required to travel to the United States for visa-exempt individuals, will increase from USD 21 to USD 40 as of this date, an increase of nearly 90% over the current rate.
This increase is part of federal legislation HR-1, officially titled the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which was passed on July 4, 2025.
