General information

To travel to Australia an electronic travel authorization, eVisitor (or eTA) or a Business/Tourism visitor visa, must be obtained before departure.

There are many other types of Visas (Sub xxx) depending on the activity, your situation, the length of stay, etc. Do not hesitate to contact us to find out more.

Do you need a Visa for Australia?

Obtaining a visa before departure is mandatory to travel to Australia.

Visa Travel International can assist you in obtaining your eTA or Business/Tourism visa before entering the australian territory.

It should be noted that no visa is issued on arrival in the country. Therefore the traveler must imperatively make his request to the Australian immigration service before his departure.

Conditions of entry in Australia

In order to enter the territory of Australia, the traveler must bring his passport and a copy of his eVisitor (or eTA) or Business/Tourism visitor visa as well as a return flight ticket.

It should be noted that, even if the traveler is in possession of all the documents requested to validate his entry into Australia, the Australian authorities reserve the right to refuse access to their territory without having to justify it.

Understanding the Visa for Australia

The eVisitor/eTA is valid for 1 year for a maximum stay of 3 months per trip.

The Business/Tourist visitor visa is valid for 3, 6 or 12 months (from issue date) depending on your choice and for multiple entries.

Documents to be provided: Business visitor

  • Copy/scan of passport data page
  • Copy/scan of your most recent bank statement demonstrating your financial independence
  • Copy/scan of your last 3 pay slips (sufficient funds available)
  • Copy/scan of your company’s mission letter confirming that you are indeed their employee, the reason for the trip, and that the company will cover all your travel-related expenses
  • Copy/scan of the invitation letter from the hosting company in the UK specifying the nature of your visit, the dates, the content of your intervention, etc.
  • Copy/scan of all stamps and visas contained in your passport
  • Copy/scan of your residence permit for non-European citizens

Documents to be provided: eVisa

  • Color scan of passport data page (with 6 months validity)
  • For Tourism trip, scan of the proof of sufficient financial resources (last bank statement)

VTI’s advice for your trip to Australia

Australia’s visa service is generally very efficient but we strongly recommend that you leave enough room between your flight and the eTA or Business/Tourist visitor visa request.

Indeed, the Australian Embassy officially informs us (visit this link to consult the delivery deadlines for all types of Visas) of the deadlines for obtaining the eTA (90% granted in less than 1 day / statistics at 31/3/2025):

For the Business Visitor Visa: on average, 50% are granted in 6 days and 90% in 17 days (statistics at 31/5/2025).

For the Tourist Visitor Visa: on average, 50% are granted in 11 days and 90% in 31 days (statistics at 31/5/2025).
