eVisa

An eVisa (electronic visa) has been available since August 2026. While it does not replace the standard visa affixed to your passport, it is faster to obtain and does not require submitting an application to the consulate. However, it is valid for a single entry and a duration of 90 days. Below, you will find all the information needed for Visa Travel International to obtain this eVisa (for business and/or tourism) on your behalf.

VISA APPLICATION ONLY WITH APPOINTMENT

  The Ghana Consulate requires an appointment to be made in order to submit a Visa application.

  The appointment can only be made with all the documents necessary for the Visa application in our possession. Without this, we will not be able to access the calendar and therefore make the desired appointment.

  Also, we ask you to please ensure that your file is compiled as quickly as possible (and exhaustively) so that we can make the appointment, submit the request and therefore begin to run the deadline (for obtaining your visa) as proposed by the Consulate (Emergency: 48/72 hours or Standard: 7 days).

General information

To travel to Ghana a Visa/eVisa is generally required with a few exceptions.

Visa Travel International is an agency approved by the Ghana Consulate to assist you in your formalities and whatever type of Visa you need.

To this end, you will find on this page all the information and answers to questions that will be useful to you in order to obtain your Visa. If this is not the case, please do not hesitate to get back to us so that we can give you all the information you need.

Do you need a Visa for Ghana ?

A Visa/eVisa for Ghana is mandatory except for nationals of the following countries (for a stay of less than 90 days): Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Dominican Republic, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mozambic, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sao-Tomé et Principe, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Swaziland and Togo.

Be careful, however, to inform yourself regularly about this exemption which may be questioned at any time by the authorities of Ghana.

Conditions of entry in Ghana

To enter the territory of Ghana, the traveler must bring his passport with Visa/eVisa as well as a return flight ticket.

It should be noted that, even if the traveler is in possession of all the documents requested to validate his entry into Ghana, the Ghanaian authorities reserve the right to refuse access to their territory without having to justify it.

Understanding the Visa for Ghana

The Visa for Ghana is valid for 3 months from the date of issue for a stay of up to 30 days.

It should be noted that multiple entry Visas are granted to travelers who have already obtained a Visa for Ghana.
The granting of this type of Visa is at the discretion of the consul.

The eVisa is valid for 3 months, single entry and for a 30 days stay maximum. 

Documents to be provided : Visa Business

● An original signed passport valid for 6 months after the date of your return + the copy of the passport data page.

● A completed and signed form.
BE CAREFUL to fill in “ON SITE ACCOMODATION DETAILS” WITH ADDRESS & TELEPHONE AND TO COMPLETE THE FORM IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

● A front face identity photo (colour and less than 6 months old).

● A letter of invitation + a copy of the identity document or passport of the signatory of the invitation letter as well as the copy of the work permit or resident card if the signatory is of foreign nationality.

● A mission letter from your company specifying the reason and dates of your trip.

● A travel certificate with the return dates or copy of the flight ticket + hotel reservation duly signed and stamped by hotel staff confirming the reservation (electronic reservation not accepted).

● A copy of the yellow fever vaccination record.

● A copy of the residence permit for non-european people as well as proof of address for non-french people.

Documents to be provided : Visa Tourism

● An original signed passport valid for 6 months after the date of your return + the copy of the passport data page.

● A completed and signed form.
BE CAREFUL TO FILL IN YOUR “ACCOMODATION DETAILS ON SITE” WITH ADDRESS & TELEPHONE AND TO COMPLETE THE FORM IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

● A front face identity photo (colour and less than 6 months old).

● A travel certificate with the return dates or copy of the flight ticket + hotel reservation duly signed and stamped by hotel staff confirming the reservation (electronic reservation not accepted).

● A vaccination record booklet or copy/scan of your vaccination record booklet.

● A copy of the residence permit as well as proof of address for non-French people.

Documents to be provided : eVisa Business and Tourism

  • A scan of the data page of your passport (signed and valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date)
  • A passport-style photo (color, facing forward, taken within the last 6 months)
  • A scan of your travel itinerary
  • A scan of your hotel reservation (or proof of accommodation)
  • A scan of your yellow fever vaccination certificate (or vaccination record)

For a Business eVisa application, add:

  • A scan of an invitation letter from the inviting company in Ghana
  • A scan of the inviting company’s business registration documents in Ghana

For a Tourist eVisa application, add:

 

  • A scan of an invitation letter for your visit to Ghana
  • A scan of your round-trip flight ticket
